Thank You Notes

Thank you, nursery volunteers, for loving the youngest among us; showing them God’s love, even when wiping runny noses all morning.

Thank you, children’s worship leaders, for sharing God’s word through fun stories.

Thank you, youth helpers, for helping to keep kids engaged in the stories, handing out the cheerios, and helping kids on their numerous potty breaks.

Thank you, KidLife Elementary small group leaders, for being there each week and encouraging our kids to grow in God’s love.

Thank you, KidLife Preschool leaders, for leading strong!

Thank you, KidLife Parent helpers, it means so much to us that you are willing to give of your time.

Thank you, Worship Ways leaders, for guiding our kids to understanding ways in which we worship, rock and roll songs and all.

Thank you, Pioneer Clubs volunteers, for your willingness to give of your time to the children of our church, for sharing Jesus’ love every week, and for breaking the 100-point barrier on flappy bird.

Thank you, Children’s Ministry Parents, for sharing your kids with us!

Children’s Ministry – December 2015

childrens-ministry

We are sharing praises this month! RRC filled 104 shoes boxes for Operation Christmas Child. KidLife has quite a large “sock pile” to donate to North Kent Community Center. Pioneer Clubs kids made 6 tie-blankets and donated them to D.A. Blodgett St. John’s. They also made Christmas cards for the residents at Bishop Hills. Kids love to give, and it’s apparent when we do outreach activities such as these.

“Simply Christmas! Kids” Is Wednesday, December 16 at 6:00pm for simple supper and 6:45pm program. Kids need to arrive by 6:30 to the Fellowship Hall. “Dressy casual” is what we are asking the kids to wear, since only a few kids have costumes this year.

Reminder: there will be No Sunday school on December 27 & January 3. Merry Christmas!

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14

Children’s Ministry – November 2015

childrens-ministry

Happy November!  A season to give thanks is upon us. We wanted to take a moment to say Thank You to the many volunteers that we have in children’s ministries. They all go above and beyond to make sure things are covered, that our kids are taken care of, and that all needs are met in each area. Your hard work and dedication truly means the world to us!

A huge thank you to those who grabbed an Operation Christmas Child box and filled it up. 100 boxes were purchased and they are gone! What an amazing impact RRC has on missions.

Speaking of missions, KidLife is collecting new socks for our “Sock Pile.” The pile is located downstairs in the children’s area, if you would like to help us make the pile grow. We will be collecting until December 13, and then they will be given to North Kent Community Services. Socks are the most requested items but the least given. The kids enjoy seeing the pile grow!

“Spark in the Dark” was a successful event. We were excited to see new faces and hear that people had invited friends and families to join us! We were also overwhelmed with the gratitude given to us by you all. We graciously accept it and are planning the event already for next year!

We are also working on our annual Pioneer Clubs Christmas Program, which takes place on Wednesday, December 16. Watch for details coming soon!

On the Wednesday before Halloween, Pioneer Clubs will be hosting a “Spark in the Dark” party in place of having regular club meetings. We are opening it up to the community, so please invite your friends and neighbors! There will be games for kids of all ages, hot dogs for dinner, prizes, and of course, candy! Costumes are welcome if you would like to wear them. The party takes place in the gym from 6-8pm on October 28. If you would like to donate candy, please place it at the info desk in the back of the sanctuary. Thank you!

The Caravan Sunday School program is in the process of transitioning into KidLife. The curriculum will gradually be changing to a new format. Another change you will notice is the traffic flow through the lower level. In an effort to provide the safest possible environment for the children, we are closing off parts of the lower level to anyone who is not there for KidLife. Please respect any signs you see that direct you away from the area. To get to the gym following services, you can either go down the stairs into the fellowship hall and through to the back hallway, or use the main stairs near the elevator. We thank you for your patience as we go through this transition!

We have a praise! VBS was awesome! We had over 100 participants, collected $232 for Team Orphans, $170 toward food for North Kent Community Services, and most importantly, kids learned about God’s mighty power. It really was a great week!

If you didn’t make it to our Noise Night, you missed out! Even a small group of kids can make quite a lot of noise. In the end, the boys beat the girls, and Ethan Shantz was the overall winner for making the loudest noise. We will be having another fun event in August. More info to come!
